Winter Sun in Malaysia

With the world in lockdown, it allows us to reflect on trips, events and projects gone by. In 2019 I was fortunate enough to be invited by Four Seasons, Pacific World, Malaysia Airlines and Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) to go and experience for myself what Malaysia has to offer for events and incentives.

Arriving in Malaysia (courtesy of a lovely business class flight) we were whisked away to the superb Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur were we enjoyed a wonderful lunch and show around of the hotel’s meeting and events offering. Featuring a 776 m2 ballroom, six meeting rooms and six restaurants all of which are finished to the exceptionally high standards that are to be expected of a Four Seasons property.

On top of the fantastic event spaces on offer, the ground agent Pacific World arranged some brilliant trips and excursions for the group to enjoy. Our first trip was a Harley Davidson bike tour to see what Kuala Lumper has to offer, seeing the sights of the Malaysia Tourism Centre, National palace and Sultan Abdul Samad Building. This was followed by dinner at Bijan restaurant and sundowners at Troika. Other excursions we enjoyed during the week included; quad bike tour of the jungle, a tour or Royal Sengalor Visitor Centre, mangrove tour, island hopping and more meals at incredible Malaysian restaurants than is fair to mention!

From Kuala Lumper we flew to the island of Langkawi (30km off the coast of mainland Malaysia) to check in at the Four Seasons Langkawi, set on the edge of the forest and with 1.8km of private beach, it really is a taste of paradise! With 91 bedrooms, three restaurants, beach bar, tennis courts and bicycles there is something for every guest to enjoy on the resort.

Malaysia is a beautiful country well know for its welcoming hospitality and incredible food. If you are choosing Malaysia for a meeting/conference, the modern and bustling city of Kuala Lumpur is for you. The Four Seasons has great offerings in a brand-new hotel, with all the meeting space conveniently on one floor. If you’re looking for incentive trip, it’s the magnificently beautiful and natural Langkawi Island. Although there is a small amount of meeting space, and Suites can be used as meeting rooms, this resort is much more geared up for incentive travel, particularly in comparison to the Kuala Lumpur property. Their Mangrove excursions are too good to miss!

It was so lovely to meet so many good people on this trip. Massive thanks again to all our hosts for providing us with this fantastic experience, hope to see you soon!
